This is exactly what it is for me (plus my online journal). When I read this, I wanted to cry. I don’t think I could’ve said it better myself.
YESSSS. Omg. Sooooo true. Every single thing + detail.
who said one voice can't make a difference? pass it on!
for someone who’s had both parents diagnosed with diseases (breast cancer for my mom, prostate cancer for my dad) at one point in my life, this “help mend a heart” project is really hitting close to home.
luckily i write you today with two healthy parents. i can’t imagine the position that these children sit in, today… nor would i ever want to.
who says one person can’t make a difference? i’ve been working on making fliers regarding HMAH for a big festival show in south florida tomorrow. i’m reaching out to local radio stations in hopes of gaining more attention towards the cause. i’ve already donated money and my mom has already pledged to donate money. here’s where you come in.
for every person that reblogs this, up to 100 people, i’ll donate $0.18…that might sound silly to you, but as i reblogged in a previous blog, the word for “life” in Hebrew is “chai.” The two Hebrew letters that make up the word “chai” are chet and yud. In Gematria (the numerical value of Hebrew letters), chai is equivalent to 8 and yud is equivalent to 10. So “chai”, chet and yud together, equals 18. Giving money in multiples of $18 is symbolic of giving “chai” or life.
every little bit counts. i can’t afford much right now, but i’m trying to do everything i can to gain attention towards this cause.
it’s not about the $18 as much as it is about pushing this to people who can help. help with $1. help with $0.50. help with what you can, even if it’s just spreading the word. i hope for your sakes that you never have to be in this position, but if you were, you’d hope to have the community come together for you. that’s what this is about.take care of yourselves. all my love.
